Happy Thursday Gabbers!
I was going to talk about the NBA today, but thanks to Mariano "the fruitbat" Rivera, A-Roid, the statue of Derek Jeter, Mark "I'm too good for Boston" Teixeira, CC "how do they find uniforms this large" Sabathia, and the rest of the over-paid crybaby sissies from New York, I have to talk about baseball.
Yes friends, as much as we hate to admit it, the Yankees have won the World Series. And we thought that money couldn't buy a championship -- silly us. Georgie poo has finally opened up his purse wide enough to buy the right combination of players to get that championship trophy he so desperately craves -- I just hope it was worth the $400M investment over the next 8 years (this is not including the money that will have to be invested for CC's donut cravings and A-Roids "treatments").
Needless to say, I'm pretty pissed off right now. And, I'm not pissed off just because the Yankees won, hell they should expect to win every year when they have a payroll of more than $200M -- but I'm pissed off because now we have to deal with the media kissing the Yankees' asses for the next three months (as if they don't do it enough already).
If there is anything positive that can be taken from this World Series, it's the fact that they finally got the MVP right. I was expecting the voters to give it to A-Roid because he finally decided to show up when it counted, but they actually gave it to someone who deserved the award. As much as I hate the Yankees and the fact that they won, I do appreciate the fact that Matsui was named the MVP over A-Roid.
But, other than the fact that they actually gave the MVP to someone who deserved it, I hate everything about how the World Series ended. I hate that Rivera got the save. I hate that horseface Andy got the win, I hate that A-Roid, and Teixeira, and Jeter got key hits. I hate everything about this Yankees team, and every Yankees team that has ever set foot on the field.
I hate the stupid reporter that asked Johnny Damon to compare this World Series with the one he won in Boston (like we give a shit -- I guess the media doesn't realize that Johnny Damon is dead to Red Sox fans for going to New York).
I hate the fact that A-Roid juiced up and lied about it, until a book came out exposing his punk ass -- and then he is rewarded by the baseball gods with a championship. It's just not right, and I fucking hate it.
I hate that Pedro lost to the Yankees in a postseason elimination game (again), and I hate that the Phillies weren't able to pull out a comeback. I hate that the series didn't go seven games, because I wanted to see how Yankees fans would react to yet another choke job -- but I don't get to see that, and I hate it. I hate that baseball season is over, and that for the next three months I have to remember that the Yankees are the defending World Series champions.
I know this week's post is short -- but I really can't think of anything else to say. I mean, I could sit here and type out "fuck the Yankees" over and over and over and over -- but it would be a waste of my time.
I'm heading over to the Tavern to drink some Sam Adams -- maybe that will help take the hate away.
Until next Thursday...
