I wasn't expecting this week's game to be the typical nail-biter we've had this year...And I'm really glad it wasn't...It being Halloween, I didn't get to give this game my full attention...If it had been like most of the Notre Dame games this season...I would have been in trouble...Suddenly ignoring the kids, and the trick-or-treaters, and all my other duties as the man of the house...
The Irish defense wasn't tested like it has been in every other game...The offense went out there and did what they do...
Clausen completed 22 of 27 passes, for 268 yards and 2 touchdowns...Clausen has thrown 18 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions this year...
Golden Tate had 4 receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown...He also added 61 yards and another touchdown on the ground, carrying the ball 4 times...Robert Hughes carried the ball 24 times for 131 yards and a touchdown...John Goodman made a 64 yard touchdown reception from Dayne Crist in the 4th quarter...
Nick Tausch added two field goals, taking his streak of consecutive field goals made to 14...
Now, a quick bit of Notre Dame Hockey...The Irish took on Ohio State for the second night in a row...After Friday's win, I was hoping to see the Irish get on a hot streak...No such luck...The Buckeyes and Irish played to a 2-2 tie...Then Ohio State won the shootout 2-1...Shootouts count in the CCHA standings, but in the National standings, it goes down as a tie...
The Irish goal scorers were, Riley Sheehan and Kyle Lawson...Both scoring their second goals of the year...Brad Phillips faced 32 shots on goal...
Notre Dame now has a record of 4-3-1 and will be heading to Alaska Fairbanks for 2 games next week...
