Personally, it smells somewhat of Bowie Kuhn when he vetoed the sale of A's players to the Yankees. A bit different, especially given the NBA's ownership of the Hornets, but as close a correlation as you can draw I guess. In my mind, Stern made a good decision, but as is his mantra, timed it horribly. This should have been declined prior to any agreement being in place and any media alerts being made public.

frag- Maybe, but it took Buttman and the NHL a long time to recover and NBC was a very patient partner cuz they needed Sports programming. I think ESPN is going to start pressuring the NBA  negotiations.

Personally, mine look like this:

AL MVP - Evan Longoria - Tampa Bay

Longoria is now entering his prime, on a team he now is the unspoken leader of. He showed last year that he was ready to step into the limelight and this year is where it all comes together with hardware to prove it.
